The Ukrainian Cup

The Ukrainian Cup is an annual national tournament, conducted according to the playoff scheme. The first competition took place in 1992 and was won by Chornomorets. Since then till 2008 the tournament was held under the authority of the Professional Football League of Ukraine, since 2008 it’s organized by the Ukrainian Football Premier League.

The Ukrainian Cup winner is entitled to play a game for the Super Cup against the country champion before the start of the next season and goes into the Europa League. The trophy is perpetual, and the winner may keep it till the next year final.

The Premier League, First League, Second League and amateur teams-finalists of the Ukrainian football championship among amateurs participate in the Ukrainian Cup. Please note, that the Premier League clubs enter the field no sooner than 1/16 final match. During the tournament history only these five clubs managed to become the Ukrainian Cup holders: Chornomorets (Odesa), Dynamo (Kyiv), Shakhtar (Donetsk), Vorskla (Poltava) and Tavriya (Simferopol).

The Ukrainian Cup most award-winning club is Dynamo Kyiv, possessing 10 trophies and having its last victory in 2014.
